BreachGuard blocks ads, trackers, and fingerprinting scripts before the browser downloads them. A matched request never reaches the page. Empty ad slots are then hidden so the layout does not keep a hole where the iframe was.

This page answers against a short sample. Chrome uses the live filter lists once the extension is installed.
Rules run in Chrome’s declarativeNetRequest engine. A listed request is cancelled in the browser process, not after JavaScript sees it.
Cosmetic filters collapse empty ad containers and leftover frames so the article does not sit above a blank rectangle.
BreachGuard does not collect browsing history, identifiers, or diagnostics. Filter lists update. Your traffic does not.
